FARM PRODUCTION

KUMWE GREEN FARM LTD supplies farmers with key inputs (seeds, fertilizers, Chemicals etc.) as well as technical expertise via team of fulltime agronomists during the contract farming model.

  Cultivating on owned farms under long-term lease agreements.

  Partnering with farmers to supply horticultural products (majorly avocados).

HARVESTING & TRANSPORTATION

  Our produce is handpicked during harvesting with minimal use of machinery, providing employment opportunities for youth and women.

  Our produce is transported straight from the farm to the packhouse to ensure freshness and maintain quality.

  We currently use a third-party logistics company to transport our produce from the farmhouse to our packhouse in Kigali.

PRIMARY PROCESSING & PACKAGING

  Kumwe contracts third-party NAEB packhouse facility, which is HACCP certified, for the packaging and sorting of its produce..

  Farm Produce is delivered to the Warehouse where its graded, sorted, and packaged according to customer requirements.

  Consignmemts are prepared ready for Shipping

  In total, the produce typically spends no more than 36hrs in the Packhouse before its shipped.

FREIGHT AND LOGISTICS

  Our Primary Shiping method is Air Freight and we have built strong working relationship with major airlines in and out of Rwanda. We work with RwandAir and Ethiopian Airways

  We do sea shipping as well. We were among the companies that did a trial avocado shipment from Kigali to Dubai in January 2024 which was very successful. and we are currently in discussion with our customers to do solo containers for KUMWE GREEN FARMS.
